AVENUE Q

~~~
AVENUE Q, winner of the 2004 Tony Award for Best New Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and
Best Original Score, is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the story of recent collage graduate -
Princeton - as he moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q.
Princeton sets out to find his purpose and is soon surprised to discover that his friendly yet not
exactly ordinary neighbours are stuck in the same stage of life. Performed by an unholy comedic
alliance of puppets and humans, this show will leave you in stitches, although you may never
see Sesame Street the same way again.
With songs like ‘It sucks to be me’, ‘Everyone’s a little bit racist’ and ‘Schadenfreude’ - songs so catchy
 that it’s frankly ridiculous - you won’t want to miss MacMS’s production when it takes over the Lighthouse Theatre stage!
Who is AVENUE Q appropriate for?
Adults love AVENUE Q, but whether the show is appropriate for kids is a little, er, fuzzy. Considering AVENUE Q
addresses issues like sex, drinking, and surfing the web for porn, it's hard to say what exact age is right to see
the show, but we strongly suggest parents use discretion when deciding whether or not to let the kids tag
along. We can promise you this though - if you do bring your offspring to AVENUE Q,
they'll think you're really, really cool.
